Resilience, Growth, and Renewal:
An Open Chat for All FOS11 Members

As the fourth commemoration of September 11, 2001, approaches, many people feel a resurgence of worry and grief. As a result, we often ask ourselves, "How can I cope during this time of year? What will help my family members?" It is not unusual to feel overwhelmed dealing with your personal feelings while also comforting your family. Similarly, parents of children affected by 9/11 recognize that with the beginning of school, this time of year presents many additional challenges as well. It is important to remember that each commemoration also offers an opportunity to focus on resilience, growth, and renewal.

Join your peers in the 9/11 community for this online chat session on Thursday, August 25, from 8:00-9:00 PM EST. Learn more about what type of reactions to anticipate and learn what kind of activity planning can reinforce resilience. Whether you live on the East Coast or West Coast or anywhere between, survived or lost loved ones in the attacks at the Pentagon, the World Trade Center or Shanksville, we invite you to discuss issues and topics that are of importance to you in a safe, positive environment.

Dr. Donna Gaffney, a licensed mental health professional and noted trauma specialist, will facilitate the chat.
